"Studio art majors should all learn to paint signs because they'll never earn a living selling their artwork!" was the forecast given by a seasoned professor. Many years later, Amy developed a home-based online business selling other people's artwork, textiles, and antiques, to maintain a flexible schedule while her children were younger. In August of 2001, when her cabinetmaker-husband opened his home-based shop, their twin sons turned fourteen years old, and her daughter graduated from high school, she was able to leave the nest to pursue a new career at Dartmouth Printing Company as an assistant account supervisor. She really enjoys the art of printing coupled with the business of publication production.

Living in rural Vermont gives plenty of opportunities for country auctions, gardening, and reading good books. She feels fortunate to live with her family in the most beautiful place in the world.
